01 / CHALLENGE

Real-time monitoring — no on-site staff required.

Enable real-time water monitoring for a remotely managed residential property in Orlando, using commercially available smart meters and a mix of public and private LoRaWAN infrastructure — with no on-site personnel required to detect or respond to anomalies.

02 / SOLUTION

Three meters. Two networks. One platform.

Residential rental property in the Orange County area of Orlando, Florida. The property is managed remotely by an international property owner and leased to a long-term tenant.

Installation of 3 Qalcosonic W1 ¾" ultrasonic meters from AXIOMA METERING, with a dual-network communication setup:

  • 1 meter connected via the public Helium LoRaWAN network.
  • 2 meters connected through a private LoRaWAN network, using two on-site gateways integrated with WiserMeter's own LoRaWAN network server built on ChirpStack.
  • Full integration with the WiserMeter platform: real-time data, automatic leak detection, and immediate email notifications.
03 / KEY RESULTS

Leak detected. Alert sent. Resolved before noon.

On May 24, 2025, between midnight and 1:00 AM Orlando time, LegitOS detected a continuous water flow of 121 liters/hour across one of the monitored units — a pattern consistent with a running fixture or pipe fault.

At 9:32 AM, the system automatically sent an alert to the property owner. No one had to log into a dashboard. No manual review was required.

The owner contacted the tenant the same morning. The tenant identified the source and shut off the water valve before noon — less than 10 hours after first detection, with zero in-person visits to the property.

What this demonstrated:

  • A leak was caught and contained before it escalated into a significant utility bill
  • The property owner managed the entire incident remotely, without dispatching anyone
  • The automated alert worked end-to-end — detect, notify, resolve — with no human monitoring of dashboards
  • LegitOS operated reliably across both public (Helium) and private LoRaWAN networks simultaneously
  • The platform is operationally ready to serve the U.S. market today
Conclusion

LegitOS passed the test
on U.S. soil.

This incident served as an unplanned real-world stress test of the LegitOS platform on U.S. soil — and it passed. The platform detected the problem, routed the alert, and the tenant resolved the issue, all without anyone needing to be on-site or actively monitoring a screen.
