Challenge

Deliver a submetering solution capable of:

• Effectively managing a complex building with hundreds of meters and units remotely, with no local team;
• Maintaining high service standards across long distances (over 700 km from the company’s headquarters);
• Ensuring real-time detection of anomalies to prevent customer complaints and reduce costs.

Solution

The project involves a residential building in Brasília, Brazil, featuring 72 apartments and a total of 656 water meters—approximately 9 meters per unit. Despite the logistical challenge, WiserMeter enabled full remote management from its partner’s headquarters in Belo Horizonte, 725 km away.

Using only two LegitFix data concentrators, the system performs one reading per minute for each of the 656 meters, resulting in over 900,000 readings per day with high reliability and data redundancy. A key factor in this performance is LegitFix, the only data concentrator in the Brazilian market with remote firmware update capability (FOTA). This allows for performance optimization and feature upgrades without needing on-site technical visits.
